‘In Dog We Trust’ accidentally printed on sheriff’s dept. rugs

LARGO, Fla. – The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has gone to the dogs. Well, at least its rugs have.

Department spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda said Wednesday that the new rugs at the sheriff’s administration building say “In Dog We Trust” instead of “In God We Trust.”

The forest green rugs with the sheriff’s yellow badge were in the entrance area for several months before the error was discovered.

Barreda says the error was made by the rug manufacturer and it’s in the process of being corrected.

The rugs were removed Wednesday. It’s not clear if the new carpet smell had worn off.
