Man charged in death of Ohio girlfriend’s 5-month-old. ‘You killed my baby girl’
An Ohio woman is grieving after officials say her 5-month-old baby died from blunt force trauma.
Glenn McIntosh is charged with murder, Franklin County court records show.
On Oct. 13, the Madison Township Fire Department was called to a home for reports of a baby having a difficult time breathing, WBNS reported.
The mother of 5-month-old Ameira Reynolds was gone for about an hour and left the infant with her boyfriend, McIntosh, the Columbus Dispatch reported. When she got home, McIntosh left quickly and Ameira’s mom initially thought she was sleeping but realized she was unresponsive, according to the outlet.
“Upon further observation, the baby was limp,” a prosecutor said in court, WSYX reported. “(The mother) took the baby to the hospital, was frantically texting the defendant, trying to figure out what happened to her child. He was not responding.”
Eventually, McIntosh told her Ameira had fallen, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
While at the hospital, doctors discovered Ameira had skull fractures and injuries that were inconsistent with the information initially given to police, WSYX reported.
At 6:32 p.m. she was pronounced dead, WBNS reported.
“You asked me to trust you and I trusted you with my baby, and you took her from me,” a statement from Ameira’s mother read in court said, according to the Columbus Dispatch. “You killed my baby girl. My baby didn’t deserve that. I can’t imagine what you put her through.”
McIntosh is being held on a $2 million bond.
