Man filmed up skirts of 144 females at high school graduations, MN police say
A man in Minnesota is accused of filming lewd videos of 144 females at multiple high school graduation ceremonies in Minneapolis, authorities say.
Benjamin Thomas Goldsmith, 32, was arrested on multiple charges, including interfering with privacy.
At a graduation ceremony being held at Mariucci Arena around June 2, 2024, police were alerted when witnesses said Goldsmith was exhibiting “concerning behavior” and suspected he was carrying a firearm, court documents say.
When detained, officers discovered Goldsmith was carrying a camera in a sweatshirt.
Witnesses say that Goldsmith would get “uncomfortably close” behind girls at the ceremony and touch “the item that was in his pocket,” according to authorities.
There were 144 victims recorded in video clips over two days at multiple graduations held at the arena, the complaint says.
Police found a hard drive containing 151 images and video of child sexual abuse material in his car, which was parked near the venue, police said.
Goldsmith was charged in 2018 on 30 counts of interfering with privacy after being accused of filming up the skirts of 65 women at the Mall of America, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported at the time.
He also has two outstanding cases involving taking photos up skirts in the Twin Cities in 2024, the Star Tribune reported.
