A passenger on a cruise ship visiting Juneau died after he fell while hiking on a nearby mountain, Alaska State Troopers reported.

Britian Pool, 32, was found dead off the Mount Roberts trail at about 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, troopers said in a dispatch.

Pool and another cruise ship passenger fell off the trail and slid down the steep mountain while on a hike, troopers said.

Rescuers found the other passenger, who had minor injuries, and rescued him, but Pool had slid farther down the mountain, troopers said.

Drones later found Pool, who had died of injuries from the fall, troopers said.

Juneau is about an 850-mile drive southeast from Anchorage.
