‘Miracle.’ Cat who was born in Ohio shelter finally gets a home — after 6 years
A cat who has waited their entire life to feel the love of their very own human received a miracle recently, and one Grove City shelter is celebrating.
Jamie, a sleek beauty with wide, expressive eyes, finally got her wish, the Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) said in a Sept. 12 Facebook post. A wish that took years to grant.
“After more than 6 years of waiting, our sweet girl Jamie — who was born in the shelter and has only ever known shelter life — finally got the miracle she deserved,” the shelter cheerfully announced.
“Jamie has officially been adopted and is now curled up in her very own forever home!”
A half-dozen years is a long time for a feline, especially one who has never really experienced life outside shelter walls. And the timing of her adoption couldn’t have been better, the shelter said.
“Her journey is especially heartwarming because she was able to head home just before our shelter’s temporary closure due to (a) medical outbreak,” the shelter continued.
“This means Jamie didn’t have to wait a single day longer — she’s safe, loved, and beginning her brand-new chapter right where she belongs.”
The shelter goes on to say that it’s never too late for an animal who has been overlooked in a kennel environment to be welcomed into a loving permanent home of their own.
“From a shy, quiet presence to a cherished family member, Jamie’s transformation gives us all hope — and reminds us why we do what we do,” the shelter said.
