A cuddly dog in Omaha is on the search for a home and a warm lap to snuggle up to after being rescued from a supposed neglectful situation.

Meet Clementine, an angel of a pup who was rescued with another dog named Cynthia from two alleged dogfighting rings in separate states. After arriving to the Nebraska Humane Society, Cynthia managed to find a home, while Clementine still waits, the shelter said in a Sept. 3 Facebook post.

“The 2.5-year-old bulldog mix is such a sweetheart despite her circumstances, where she was rescued with more than 100 other dogs, many of whom were observed with untreated injuries and scarring consistent with dogfighting,” the shelter said in the post.

“She has done very well in our playgroups, loves to lick, is wiggly and walks well on leash. She can, on occasion, be a little fearful, but this resilient pup always seems to bounce right back!”

Even after coming from a horrible background, Clementine still has the most loving demeanor when it comes to smaller pets and children.

“She has met cats and been respectful of them and was also gentle when meeting kids. She will need a little potty training help, but don’t worry — we’ll give you some tips! She loves soft voices, even baby talk, and stuffed toys.”
