“I usually play scratch off tickets, but I bought a $30 Jumbo Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket on a whim and ended up winning $300,” the 39-year-old man told lottery officials.
The man decided to use part of his winnings to buy another ticket.
“When I cashed that ticket, I used $20 of my winnings to buy a Super Lucky 7s ticket,” he said.
That’s when he realized he hit the jackpot.
“I scanned the ticket on the Michigan Lottery app and started shaking when I saw I’d won $714,891. The first thing I did was walk over and give the cashier a hug,” he told lottery officials.
The man said he plans to pay bills, put money in his kids’ college funds and save the rest.
Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.
