Family with baby on way returns cat to shelter in poor health. She needs a home
A darling cat in the golden years of her life is in desperate need of a new home after getting her hopes up with her former family.
Staff at the Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Lima had high hopes for Ebony, a “gentle soul” of a cat that had been through hardships in her life. When she first came to the shelter, she was coming out of bad living situation, her pet profile said.
Regardless, she has a gentle spirit, so when a family chose to adopt her, it appeared that the loving feline was given a second chance at a warm home with people who would love her.
But it didn’t last long.
“This sweet senior cat was previously adopted from us, but sadly returned in poor condition. The owners we trusted let her down—she is now missing her teeth and in need of love more than ever. Her previous family gave her up simply because they were expecting a baby,” the shelter said in an Aug. 13 Facebook post.
“Despite everything she’s been through, Ebony’s gentle spirit still shines. She deserves a true forever home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort and love.”
According to the shelter, Ebony is:
- “Vaccinated”
- “Dewormed”
- “Microchipped”
- “Spayed”
She is also dog friendly, gets along with other cats and is good with older kids.
“Ebony may not be a kitten climbing your curtains, but she’ll be the soft, steady presence beside you — the kind of companion that makes a house feel like home,” her pet profile says.
