Dog adopted — then passed around for 10 years before being abandoned on streets
A senior dog in Lima is on the hunt for a true-blue home to call his own after spending nearly his entire life longing for one.
At the Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and Humane Society, a big handsome male known as Biggie is referred to as “the comeback king” in the shelter due to his ability to pop back up after life lets him down.
“Biggy’s journey with us started all the way back in 2015, when he was surrendered because his original owner could no longer keep up with him. We thought we’d found his happy ending when he was adopted… but life had other plans,” the shelter said in a Aug. 11 Facebook post.
“Earlier this year, our local dog warden called — they’d picked up a stray whose microchip and description matched ours. After some digging, we learned Biggy had been passed from house to house before being found running the streets.”
According to his pet profile, Biggie is a Labrador retriever-pit bull mix who is still a puppy in the body of an 11-year-old. He’s spry, gets the zoomies and loves hanging out with other dogs. Cats? Well, not so much, and he would do best in a house without them.
“Biggy has given his heart over and over — now it’s time for someone to give theirs back, for good,” the shelter said.
