Man sees girlfriend’s ex-husband at restaurant and shoots him, Kentucky cops say
A man saw his girlfriend’s ex-husband at a restaurant and shot him, Kentucky police said.
The Aug. 1 run-in between Carlos Garcia-Romero and the ex-husband, who shares a child with his former wife, was a coincidence, according to Louisville police.
He was arrested on Aug. 3 on an outstanding warrant, police said, but later charged with second-degree assault.
Garcia-Romero’s attorney information was not listed.
The ex-husband was taken to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to his leg, police said.
Garcia-Romero told police he was pointing the gun at the man when the gun accidentally went off, according to court documents. He threw the gun in a gas station dumpster, police said.
He’s held in jail on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 12.
