A family in Central Texas has a reason to celebrate following the deadly flooding in Kerr County.

And it proves that “miracles do happen.”

Kerrville Pets Alive has been working tirelessly to rescue as many pets as possible who were displaced after the fatal flooding took place over the July 4 holiday weekend. They have been recovering dogs and cats to reunite them with those affected.

That includes an orange cat named Sampson, who disappeared when his family’s house was destroyed.

“Samson’s owner did not give up looking for him. The family lost their home in the flood and both family cats were thought to be swept away,” Kerr Pets Alive said in a TikTok post.

But then came an astounding development.

“Samson walked up to someone’s home and he is alive and well.”

Now, the family is hoping another miracle is in store for them, too.

“The family is still missing their other long haired black cat Wicca from the Blue Oak RV Park in Ingram,” the shelter said.

Kerr County was hit the hardest by the flooding and three people are still missing, ABC News reported. At least 107 people died in the county.

Kerr County is about a 125-mile drive west from Austin.
