A tree trunk crashed through the windshield of a tractor and killed a 44-year-old man, Michigan State Police said.

The homeowner was driving a Bobcat tractor on his Charlotte property on July 13 when it tipped forward onto a tree trunk, Michigan State Police First District said in a July 14 post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The tree crashed through the windshield and fatally struck the man, troopers said.

He was extracted from the tractor by emergency responders and pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Charlotte is about a 115-mile drive northwest from Detroit.
