Man stole nude photos from phones, then posted them online, PA officials say
A Pennsylvania man was arrested after he was accused of stealing explicit photos from phones and posting them on the internet.
Tyler J. Jones, 33, is facing dozens of charges including unlawful use of a computer, unlawful duplication, invasion of privacy and unlawful dissemination, according to a July 8 news release from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
The charges come after he was previously convicted of criminal use of a communication device and invasion of privacy. In that case he was accused of recording college students in a bathroom and posting the videos online, according to prosecutors.
In this current case, Jones accessed the phones of five people and sent nude photos to himself without permission, officials said. He then posted the photos online, according to prosecutors.
“This is another example of cruel and despicable behavior by a repeat offender who continues to weaponize modern technology to expose victims online,” Attorney General David Sunday said. “This criminal conduct traumatizes victims by impacting their careers, personal relationships, and almost every other aspect of their lives.”
Jones was arraigned July 8 and his bail was set at $350,000.
