Man ‘forcefully’ pulls woman from car as she puts her kids inside, CO cops say
A man “forcefully” yanked a mother from her car while she put her young kids inside, Colorado police said.
The “frightening incident” unfolded the morning of June 10, when a 55-year-old man approached the mom saying he was being chased and “they’re going to kill me,” the Arvada Police Department said in a June 12 post on Facebook.
The mom started screaming and said she had kids in the car, police said.
The man “forced his way into the vehicle” anyway, and “witnesses described (the mom) trying to fight the suspect off while also trying to get her 3-year-old out of the back seat,” according to police.
Both of her kids were taken out before the man drove off in the car, police said.
Law enforcement tracked the vehicle to Golden, about 10 miles away, and the man was found trying to wave down vehicles on a highway, according to police.
He was booked into jail on suspicion of motor vehicle theft and aggravated robbery, police said, adding that he received medical care.
McClatchy News isn’t naming him pending formal charges being filed.
The mom and one of her kids sustained minor injuries, police said.
Arvada is about a 10-mile drive northwest from Denver.
