Taco Bell to launch two new limited-time items. When can you try them?
Taco Bell is looking to satisfy customers’ chicken cravings with two new items.
Crispy chicken tacos and burritos will hit menus for a limited time Tuesday, June 17, at participating Taco Bell restaurants nationwide, according to the California-based fast-food chain.
The new additions are a twist on its crispy chicken nuggets, which quickly sold out last year after “nonstop demand,” Taco Bell said.
Both include a chicken strip coated in Taco Bell’s signature tortilla chip breading, a product description says. It’s then loaded into a taco or burrito with purple cabbage, lettuce, shredded cheese, pico de gallo and customers’ choice of sauce.
The two options include:
- Spicy ranchero sauce
- Avocado ranch sauce
The crispy chicken taco costs $2.79 and the burrito starts at $5.49, though pricing may vary by location.
Customers can also order the chicken strips as a standalone item at two for $3.99, the restaurant said.
“The craving for crispy chicken is growing every single day and our fans told us loud and clear: give us more,” Liz Matthews, global chief food innovation officer for Taco Bell, said in a news release.
“Reinventing what crispy chicken can be is a challenge we’ve fully embraced and executed, and these menu additions are just the beginning.”
Following the success of its crispy chicken nuggets, Taco Bell teased plans to add crispy chicken to its menu permanently by 2026 and said it’s already testing “the next wave” of chicken innovations.
The protein is certainly having its moment as multiple fast food chains roll out new offerings to meet customers’ demand for chicken.
The McDonald’s snack wrap is returning to menus in July, and Popeyes recently launched its own version of the beloved chicken wrap in three flavor options, McClatchy News reported.
Taco Bell’s new crispy chicken taco and burrito will be available in-store, in the drive-thru and online for a limited time, though the chain didn’t say for how long.
