‘Boba tea house.’ Uniquely shaped home for sale is drawing lots of opinions
Dome homes are in a league of their own and can be considered unique when one pops up on the market. But one in particular in Michigan is getting a lot of attention from a popular Facebook page that focuses on interesting houses for sale.
Listed for $1.9 million in Kalamazoo, this three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom dome home may be puzzling on the outside, but it’s remarkably chic on the inside.
“This Monolithic Dome gem designed by Dr. Luther Bruce Is a true one-of-a-kind living experience that offers an open, light-filled interior, soaring ceilings, and a very distinctive aesthetic,” the listing on Realtor says.
“Thoughtfully integrated into the natural surroundings, it provides privacy, energy efficiency, and timeless style perfect for the design-forward thinking person that is seeking something truly unique.”
Features, according to the listing, include:
Ceiling fans
Eat-in kitchen
Stone floors
Insulation windows
While the interior could be a world of its own, fans of the real estate social media page Zillow Gone Wild have, well, other thoughts.
“I clearly haven’t had breakfast yet; all I see is bubble bread,” one person joked.
“I see dinner rolls, rising,” another said, rolling with the bread theme.
“There’s no place like dome,” someone commented.
“Looks like toadstools from the aerial shot,” one person observed.
“If Kalamazoo had a tornado, would this house become scrambled eggs?” another asked, implying that the house looks like brown eggs.
“There’s a real Frank Lloyd Wright designed neighborhood in Kzoo. I’m not sure that I would pick a Boba tea house over those if I had the money,” someone said.
Kalamazoo is about a 145-mile drive west of Detroit.
