11-year-old calls 911 as mom burns family dogs in front yard, Texas cops say
A Texas woman was arrested after authorities said she burned her family dogs while four children were with her.
At 1 p.m. May 17, an 11-year-old boy in Henderson called 911 and told dispatchers that his mom believed he was the devil and was burning the family dogs, according to the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office.
About five minutes later, 911 dispatchers got another call from a nearby home. The caller said the woman showed up at their home with blood on her hands and told them her parents had been killed, according to deputies.
When authorities arrived, they found the 32-year-old woman with four children, ages 1 to 11, in her vehicle.
After investigating, deputies found dog remains in a fire that was burning in the woman’s front yard, officials said.
The woman was arrested and charged with two felony counts of cruelty to non-livestock animals and four counts of endangering children. She was given a $400,000 bond.
Henderson is about an 140-mile drive southeast from Dallas.
