A man went into an Arizona firehouse and said he stabbed someone, and then officials found his wounded mother at a home nearby, deputies said.

The 27-year-old man was arrested on a charge of attempted murder by domestic violence, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said in a May 12 post on Facebook.

He’s accused of stabbing his 52-year-old mother multiple times after a fight, deputies said.

He went to a fire station down the street the evening of May 10 and reported the stabbing, deputies said.

The mom was taken to a nearby medical center and then flown to a hospital in Las Vegas, deputies said. She’s in stable condition, according to deputies.

Fort Mohave is about a 195-mile drive west from Flagstaff.
