Diary reveals man sexually abused girlfriend’s 14-year-old daughter, CT cops say

A 39-year-old man was arrested after being accused of sexually abusing his girlfriend’s daughter during a birthday party, Connecticut officials said.

In April 2024, Michael Parkinson, of New Hampshire, followed the 14-year-old girl into the bathroom during her 11-year-old brother’s birthday party in Colchester, according to the arrest affidavit.

While she was sitting on the toilet, he asked for her sweatshirt to be lifted up, to which the teen refused, the document said.

He later went to her room and got into bed with her before moving her hand to his crotch, officials said.

Initially, the teen told her therapist that someone had sexually abused her, but didn’t say who, officials said.

A separate time, the victim told officials Parkinson had put his hand under her shirt while her mom was in the room without her mother’s knowledge, officials said.

A month later, the girl’s mom met with police and showed officers the teen’s diary where she recounted the crime, officials said.

“I looked up, ‘what is it called when someone touches your private part’ Google says: Sexual assault, ‘without consent ‘touching’ in genitals, breasts or bottom’ which he definitely did to all of them,” the girl’s diary entry read, according to court documents.

Parkinson was extradited from New Hampshire to Connecticut and was arrested on charges of illegal sexual contact with a victim under 16 and sexual assault, according to a news release by Connecticut State Police.

He is being held on a $250,000 bond and was scheduled to reappear in court April 28, officials said.

Colchester is a 60-mile drive northeast of New Haven.
