A pair of senior cats are looking for a new home after they were surrendered to an Indiana shelter as “unwanted.”

Turbo and Maddox are inseparable, so they need a new home together as a “bonded pair.”

“Turbo and Maddox have spent their entire 12 years side by side, grooming each other, playing together, and napping in shared beds. So when they were surrendered as ’unwanted,’ they didn’t just lose their home, they lost the only sense of security they’d ever known,” the Humane Society for Hamilton County in Fishers said in an April 13 Facebook post.

“Turbo is the braver of the two, a gentle headbutter who likes being held (once he knows you), giving soft love nibbles, and soaking up affection once he’s decided you’re his person. Maddox, with his three legs and full heart, purrs like an engine and melts into a blanket like it’s his full-time job. Together, they bring out the best in each other.”

According to his pet profile, Maddox enjoys “soaking up all the cozy vibes” and while he lost one leg as a kitten, that has never held him back from doing the things he adores. Turbo loves being held … and he’ll let you know when it’s time to be put down, his profile says.

“Yes, they’re shy at first. But give them a soft place to land and the patience to settle in, and you’ll be rewarded with quiet devotion, sweet snuggles, and the kind of love that only grows stronger with age,” the shelter said. “These boys have lost everything, except each other.”

Fishers is about a 20-mile drive northeast from downtown Indianapolis.
