A pair of pups in Indiana are on the lookout for a home together, a shelter said.

The Humane Society for Hamilton County in Fishers said in an April 3 Facebook post that Holly, a tan Terrier Pit Bull, and Sir Teddy, a black mixed breed, were surrendered after their owner’s world turned upside down.

“Holly & Sir Teddy lost everything but each other,” the shelter said. “Imagine spending your whole life with your best friend by your side, sharing every morning, every meal, and every lazy nap together. That’s the only life Holly and Sir Teddy have ever known until everything changed.

“For nine years, these two lived a life of love and comfort. But when their owner lost their home, Holly and Sir Teddy found themselves at the shelter confused, scared, and clinging to the one thing that never changed: each other.”

The shelter is eager to find them a home together and not separate them, especially since they’re in their golden years, their pet profiles say.

Each have different personalities that appear to complement each other.

Holly is the free spirit. She’s smart, adventurous, and always ready for the next big experience-whether that’s a swim, a car ride, or a cozy snuggle on the couch,” her profile says. “She’s got a playful, fun-loving personality and enjoys a good romp with Teddy. She’s happiest when she’s active and engaged, but once the excitement settles, she’s content to curl up next to the people she loves.”

And then there’s Sir Teddy, who is more on the softer side.

“Sir Teddy is the quiet, gentle soul. He’s a little shy with new people, preferring slow introductions (unless you have treats — then he’ll be your best friend),” his profile says.

“He’s lived peacefully with dogs, cats, and even a bird. His favorite hobbies include sniffing around the yard, shredding cardboard when he’s feeling playful, and curling up somewhere cozy. He’s not one for chaos and would be happiest in a calm, low-key home where he can relax in peace.”

However, they are selective about allowing other dogs into their world, the shelter says — especially since Holly has a “strong prey drive” (so cats are a no-no, but older children are okay), the shelter says in the Facebook post.

Fishers is about a 20-mile drive northeast from downtown Indianapolis.
