A car was flattened in a three-vehicle crash caused by a driver dropping his doughnut, according to Ohio authorities and news reports.

The man was driving on Rock Creek Road in Thompson on Wednesday, April 2, when he dropped his doughnut while reaching for his coffee, an Ohio State Highway Patrol spokesperson told WJW.

It caused him to veer into oncoming traffic, side-swipe one car and then crash into a second vehicle, WJW reported.

One person had to be cut out of their car before being taken to a hospital, highway patrol officials told WOIO.

The extracted individual was one of two people taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the news outlet reported. A third person was treated at the scene.

The Hambden Fire Department shared images of the crash, showing one car flattened and the two other vehicles also sustaining damage.

The road was closed for more than four hours, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Thompson is about a 45-mile drive northeast from Cleveland.
