A gathering took a horrifying turn when an 18-year-old woman drove across several yards to run over a 16-year-old girl, the Oklahoma City Police Department told local media.

Police responded to a call about a hit-and-run just before 10 p.m. on March 21, according to KOTV.

When they arrived at the address, police said they learned the victim, Tamireyahna Warren, was standing in the backyard when Quimariauna Neal, 18, deliberately ran her over, KFOR reported.

“From what we know right now, there was a, a prior argument, that happened prior to the incident that led to this,” OCPD spokesman Dustin Motley told KOTV. “Beyond that, we don’t know.”

A video showing the incident circulated through social media throughout the weekend.

KOCO reported Neal is accused of driving through other yards to reach Warren and others in the backyard, but police said they weren’t sure if she was targeting Warren specifically.

Neal was in the same vehicle when she was stopped by police later and arrested on a first-degree murder complaint, KFOR reported.

Warren died after being taken to the hospital, according to KOTV.

Her family gathered to mourn her the following day, KOCO reported, including her sister Kaynesha Warren.

“I feel broken, just, I feel lost. It’s my baby sister. I lost my baby brother a year ago, April 6, and I’m the only sibling left. I just feel lost,” Kaynesha Warren told the outlet.
