Six people in Ohio were arrested after officials said they kidnapped, beat and starved a man for days.

Aaron Bradshaw, 49, Austin Bradshaw, 23, Michael Esqueda, 28, Martina Jones, 28, David Cessna, 26, and Chance Johnston, 27, are charged with kidnapping to terrorize or to inflict serious physical harm on the victim of another, according to court records.

McClatchy News reached out to attorneys for Cessna, Johnston and Esqueda but did not immediately hear back. Attorney contact information for Aaron Bradshaw, Austin Bradshaw and Martina Jones was not available.

According to a report from Toledo police, Jones is married to Esqueda and in a polygamy relationship with Cessna, Johnston and Austin Bradshaw.

The 26-year-old victim told police that a dog fight broke out at Jones’ home, and he and Jones tried to break it up and it led to her breaking her arm, the police report said.

Jones then told Esqueda, Austin Bradshaw, Aaron Bradshaw, Cessna and Johnston that the man broke her arm, police said.

They then beat, punched and kicked the man and hit him with a metal baseball bat for several hours, according to a police report. They also told him if he left, they would “beat his (expletive),” the report said.

The man was forced to stand for “extended periods of time,” was only permitted to eat and drink one time a day and only slept for a total of 10 hours over seven days, court records said.

The man had injuries all over his body, officials said.

All six people were given a $200,000 bond March 24, according to court records.
