Executives of an Oklahoma City cabinet company took customers’ money, never completed their projects and abruptly closed the company’s doors, according to the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office.

Now, former CEO Travis Morelock, 39, and former chief financial officer Jason Grife, 40, have been accused of violating the Consumer Protection Act six times, taking $374,048 from six customers between July 2022 and March 2023.

The Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Unit said it received four times as many complaints against Wilshire Cabinets, the company they ran.

“My office will not tolerate businesses that prey on consumers and then disappear with their hard-earned money,” Attorney General Gentner Drummond said. “We are committed to holding these individuals accountable and securing restitution for the victims who suffered financial harm.”

Each violation “carries a potential sentence of up to ten years imprisonment and a $5,000 fine,” authorities said. If found guilty, the defendants may be ordered to pay each customer back.
