17-year-old assaulted by owner of ski hill because he didn’t pay, Wisconsin cops say
The owner of a Wisconsin ski hill is accused of assaulting a 17-year-old boy who did not pay for an entry pass, authorities say.
Nathaniel McGree, the owner of Tyrol Basin in Vermont, Wisconsin, is now charged with disorderly conduct and physical abuse of a child following the Feb. 24 incident, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
A person found the “distraught” teenager walking along a road and called 911. The teen admitted that he did not pay for his pass, the sheriff’s office said. He said he was asked to leave, and he complied.
But as he walked away from the ski hill, he was followed by McGree and another worker, who are accused of assaulting the teen, authorities said.
The teen was then forced to pay $120, which the sheriff’s office said is double the pass amount.
McGree was jailed later that day, and records show he was awaiting his arraignment as of Feb. 26.
WKOW reported McGree has owned Tyrol Basin since 2018.
Vermont is about a 105-mile drive west from Milwaukee.
