Man tells friends he’s going on walk and vanishes, OR cops say. It’s been a month
A 28-year-old man has been missing for a month since he vanished after going on a walk in Oregon, police said.
Malecai Sloan-Ramsey was last seen Jan. 17 near the Buckhorn Staging Area, the Redmond Police Department said in a Feb. 20 Facebook post.
The off-roading area is west of Redmond.
That day he told friends he was taking a walk, but police said he never came back.
Friends and family tried to get a hold of him by phone and through social media with no luck, police said.
Sloan-Ramsey was then reported missing Jan. 23, six days after he was last seen, police said.
Authorities searched the off-roading area on Jan. 23 and Feb. 19. They used drones and police dogs but couldn’t find him.
Now, police are asking the public for help.
“He was last seen wearing red Jordan sneakers, blue Carhart style pants and a flannel shirt,” police said.
He is about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, 170 pounds, has facial tattoos and “often has a mustache and a goatee.”
Anyone with information about his whereabouts can contact the police department at 541-693-6911.
“Please come back home. I need my big brother/my big homie,” his friend Micheal R. Bradshaw wrote on Facebook.
Redmond is a less than 20-mile drive northeast from Bend.
