‘Time is running out.’ A $100,000 winning Powerball ticket expires soon in Oregon

There are four unclaimed winning Powerball tickets sold in Oregon, and “time is running out,” lottery officials said.

Officials are urging lottery players to check all the nooks and crannies for their Powerball tickets, according to a Feb. 11 news release by the Oregon Lottery.

“We’ve had players find tickets worth millions of dollars in car glove boxes, in the pocket of an old pair of jeans, and at the bottom of a purse,” Heidi Quiring, the Oregon Lottery’s manager of player services, said in the release. “It’s time to see if you have a winner tucked away somewhere. After a year, the prizes can no longer be claimed.”

If the winners don’t come forward in the coming weeks, the winnings will go back to the state, officials said.

As for the tickets you should look for?

One ticket bought in Brooks expires on Feb. 21 and carries a $100,000 prize, officials said.

The other tickets, all bought in Portland, expire on March 11, April 3, and April 13, officials said. All three are worth $50,000 each.

The lottery wants to remind players to sign the back of their ticket to “ensure you can claim any prize,” officials said.

Prizes of $50,000 and higher can be claimed by appointment at the Salem and Wilsonville Prize Payment Centers, the release said.

To book an appointment, the lottery asks the public to call 800-766-6789, officials said.
