Powerball player wins $2 million prize. Where in the US was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball ticket sold in Michigan won $2 million, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning Powerball numbers and the Power Play multiplier, but not the Powerball, in the drawing Saturday, Jan. 18, the national Powerball site said.
The winning ticket was sold at Sage Beer And Wine in Royal Oak, which is about a 15-mile drive northwest from downtown Detroit, the Michigan Lottery said.
A ticket sold in Oregon hit the $329 million jackpot.
The grand prize now falls to an estimated $20 million, with a cash value of about $8.9 million, for the next drawing Monday, Jan. 20, the site said.
The winning numbers were 14, 31, 35, 64 and 69 with a Powerball of 23, the lottery said. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
More than 730,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot had not been hit since Dec. 7, when a New York player won the $256 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
