An Amazon delivery driver is wanted by the cops for the unlikely crime of doubling as a porch pirate on the job, according to investigators in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

The theft happened Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Isaac Apartments in Nexton, and surveillance video shows the driver dutifully completed her Amazon delivery before helping herself to a UPS package, officials say.

A petit theft warrant has been issued for the driver’s arrest, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office said in a Dec. 16 news release.

“An Amazon driver disguised as the Grinch? Or is it the Grinch disguised as an Amazon driver? ... She put a different spin on the typical ‘porch pirate’,” the sheriff’s office said.

Video shows the driver examined multiple packages before picking a large one to put in her car, officials say.

“After (she) delivers the Amazon packages, she is seen going to the brown UPS box, picking it up, and placing it into her Amazon delivery cart used to transport packages. The suspect then zips up the delivery cart after placing the package inside and leaves the mail room back to their vehicle.”

The woman is seen slipping out the door just as a man walks in and starts checking the boxes for his delivery, the video shows.

Investigators say the UPS delivery contained a Ninja Slush Machine, which sell for about $300.

The sheriff’s office is asking the public for help locating the driver, who lives in North Charleston. She has been arrested three times since 2016 for charges ranging from simple assault to possession of cocaine, the sheriff’s office said.

Nexton is about a 30-mile drive northwest from Charleston.
