An 89-year-old driver was attacked with pepper spray during a confrontation with another driver, Pennsylvania troopers said.

Troopers from the Lancaster Station were alerted shortly before noon Dec. 6 about a road rage incident in Strasburg Township, according to a Dec. 9 news release from Pennsylvania State Police.

Authorities learned the 89-year-old woman driving a Ford F-150 tried to pass a person driving a Subaru SUV, spurring a confrontation.

Both drivers pulled into a parking lot, then the Subaru driver sprayed the 89-year-old in the face with pepper spray and fled the scene, troopers said.

Pennsylvania State Police are asking anyone with information to call the Lancaster Station at 717-299-7650.

Strasburg Township is about a 65-mile drive west from Philadelphia.
