Woman with 3 kids in car runs over man, killing him in North Dakota, feds say
A North Dakota woman has been charged after prosecutors say she ran over a man, killing him, while she had children in the car.
The 30-year-old woman is charged with involuntary manslaughter and three counts of child neglect.
McClatchy News is not naming the woman to protect the identity of the children.
On Aug. 17, police responded to a home in Fort Totten where a man was later pronounced dead, according to an Oct. 16 news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of North Dakota.
The woman was intoxicated and driving a car with three kids inside: one under the age of 1 years old, a 1-year-old and a 10-year-old, according to an indictment. She also had drug paraphernalia on her, prosecutors said.
The woman was “driving recklessly,” officials said. She then hit the man and ran him over, prosecutors said.
Officials did not release the name of the man.
The woman is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 10.
Fort Totten is about a 175-mile northwest from Fargo.
