Best Buy employees discovered hundreds of images depicting child porn on a customer’s computer, Kentucky police said.

Jack T. Hancock, 78, of Taylorsville was arrested Oct. 14, and faces 20 counts of possessing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor under under 12 years old, according to court records.

Attorney information for Hancock was not available.

Hancock took his computer into a Louisville Best Buy on Aug. 28 “to have the content moved to an external drive,” according to a complaint documents.

Computer technicians “saw files that they believed contained” child sexual abuse material and called the St. Matthews Police Department, according to arrest records.

Police said they found “hundreds of images of children under the age of 12 engaged in sex acts with adults.”

Detectives executing a search warrant of Hancock’s home found him “actively downloading” child porn onto his computer, authorities said.

Hancock “admitted to knowingly and deliberately possessing and viewing” the files, telling investigators he had over 300 images, court records show.

His bail was set at $10,000, according to court records. He is due back in court Oct. 23 for a preliminary hearing.

Taylorsville is about a 40-mile drive southeast from Louisville.
