Officer ‘attacked’ by giant inflatable pumpkin on the loose in Ohio. See the video
Police in Ohio got an unusual call when a giant inflatable pumpkin was on the loose.
The Bay Village Police Department shared dash camera video on its Facebook page of the incident.
On Oct. 14, officers were called for a report of a “runaway pumpkin” on that rainy day.
The dashcam video shows the officer approaching the towering inflatable jack-o’-lantern that was blocking a roadway.
The officer is seen walking toward the pumpkin before the wind blows the massive lawn decoration on top of him and you can no longer see him. Then you can see the pumpkin being blown onto the police cruiser.
“Luckily, no officers (or pumpkins) were harmed during the event,” police said in the post.
The officer is then seen walking toward the cruiser, smiling. He tells the dispatcher, “this is going to be tough to move” as he tries to maneuver the grinning pumpkin with its tie-down straps.
A Facebook user in the comments pointed out the lesson in the ordeal.
“As funny as this is, it’s also a good reminder to deflate your decorations during a wind/storm. Thankfully it didn’t get tied up in the power lines or worse,” they wrote.
“Once backup officers arrived, the pumpkin was returned to the homeowner,” police said.
