Woman loses eyebrow in jail brawl that included tossing toilet water, Florida cops say
A woman serving time in a Florida jail now has only one full eyebrow, due to the other one being bitten off during a brawl, according to investigators in the Panhandle.
The “fracas” happened Friday, Oct. 4, in the women’s lockup at the Escambia County jail in Pensacola, the sheriff’s office said in an Oct. 8 news release.
“Upon investigation, it was concluded that the victim had been in a cell with the suspect ... for three days. Those three days proved difficult for the victim as (the cellmate) began acting irrationally,” the sheriff’s office said.
“Ultimately, (the cellmate) began throwing toilet water at the victim, grabbing her by the hair, and punching her. (The cellmate) then jumped on top of the victim.”
That’s when the biting commenced, starting on the arm and moving to the face, officials said.
The brawl ended after correction department officers pulled the 27-year-old suspect off the victim.
It was then discovered (the cellmate) had bitten off “a large chunk” of the victim’s eyebrow, officials said.
The identity of the victim and her condition were not released.
The suspect was charged with aggravated battery, officials said. Details of why she was in jail were not released, but jail records show she has a separate court date for an assault charge.
She provided deputies with a home address in Orlando.
