Truck traveling on highway was ‘losing chickens’ for over a mile, Oklahoma troopers say
Oklahoma troopers made an unusual rescue after a truck hauling chickens scattered its cargo along the highway.
Authorities were alerted to “a truck with a makeshift trailer” that was “losing chickens,” according to a Sept. 23 Facebook post from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The chickens were dropped over a one-mile stretch of Interstate 44 outside of Tulsa, authorities said.
After seeing a “woman trying to corral a chicken using the concrete barrier,” Trooper Carlos Zavala stepped in to help, authorities said.
“Thanks to his quick thinking and a little patience, all the feathery fugitives were safely wrangled and off the road in no time,” troopers said.
