16-year-old snags world record — for his massive feet and hands. How big are they?
Known most of his life for his size, 16-year-old Eric Kilburn Jr. now has a world record to show for it.
Two of them, in fact.
The 16-year-old from Goodrich, Michigan, now holds the Guinness world record for the largest feet and hands by a teenager.
“Being in the Guinness World Records book still feels surreal,” he told Guinness. “To have gone from reading the books to being inside the 2025 book is something I never would have imagined was even possible.”
Kilburn wears a size 23 shoe for his record 13.50-inch feet, officials say. The average foot size for an adult man is around 8.5 to 9 inches.
His feet are so big that it led to a nationwide search for him to find shoes that fit, according to a 2023 article by Hometown Life.
With help from Under Armour, PUMA and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, custom-made shoes were eventually donated to the 6-foot-11 teen, Hometown Life reported.
The donations, he said, created a lasting impact.
“It was pretty cool to see how many people genuinely care about helping others,” he told Guinness.
Guinness World Records said Kilburn’s hands measure 9.13 inches, far exceeding the average for his age of 7.4 inches.
After receiving help to receive his shoes, Kilburn hopes to do the same for others. His mom and a family friend created the Big Shoe Network to help others find clothes and shoes that fit them, MLive.com reported.
He told Guinness he hopes to get involved in the organization.
Kilburn will receive an entire page in the 70th anniversary book of Guinness World Records, according to Hometown Life.
The teen said he feels “grateful” for the experience as he continues to embrace his larger-than-life size.
“It’s OK to stand out,” the teen told Guinness. “Don’t let negativity distract you from your goals.”
