Chipotle’s ‘top requested’ item returns for first time in years. When can you get it?
A Chipotle fan favorite was missing from menus for three years.
Now it’s back, but not for long.
The smoked brisket was available as of Tuesday, Sept. 10 at participating U.S. restaurants for a limited time, according to the California-based fast-food chain.
The premium meat, dubbed one of Chipotle’s “top requested” menu items, was introduced in 2021 and quickly became a hit among customers, the restaurant said in a news release.
Made in small batches, the smoked brisket is seared and “seasoned with spices, including smoked serrano chili pepper and chipotle chili pepper,” a product description reads. It’s hand-chopped, then topped with a “savory brisket sauce.”
Pricing information wasn’t immediately available.
“We are listening to our guests and bringing this fan-favorite menu innovation out of the vault after three years,” Chris Brandt, chief brand officer for Chipotle, said in the release.
“This premium protein is sure to delight guests looking to taste the difference of brisket prepared the Chipotle way.”
Customers can order the smoked brisket for a limited time, though it’s not clear how long before it leaves the menu again.
It’s just the latest menu shake up for the fast-casual Mexican grill. In August, Chipotle announced it was testing a new chipotle honey chicken at select restaurants in Nashville and Sacramento.
The sweet and spicy offering, “seasoned with savory Mexican spices and finished with a touch of pure honey,” is part of a limited-time test as Chipotle refines its menu options.
