Officials at an Oklahoma university and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating after a fetus was found on campus.

The Northeastern State University president took to Facebook Aug. 15 to announce a fetus was found in a community restroom in a residence hall.

“Campus officials then began conducting welfare checks in an attempt to locate the mother. Shortly thereafter, a student came forward seeking medical attention,” University President Rodney Hanley said in the post.

The university is cooperating with OSBI to investigate the incident.
