‘Monster’ sexually abused 2 children over 7-year span, cops say. He’s going to prison
A man convicted of sexually abusing two children over a seven-year span will spend the rest of his life in prison, a Texas judge ruled.
Authorities began investigating Darrell Wayne Lang, 52, in 2021 when he sent an undercover police officer child pornography, telling the detective he had “sexually abused multiple children over many years,” according to Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon.
The investigation revealed Lang recorded the repeated and consistent sexual abuse of the two children, authorities said. The victims were 15 and 13 when the abuse ended, Bluebonnet News reported.
“(The children) had been groomed to the point where this is what they were expected to do every day,” Montgomery County District Attorney investigator Jeff Chapell said, according to Bluebonnet News.
Evidence was also found of child porn photos and videos Lang had obtained online, according to the district attorney.
Lang was arrested and convicted by a jury July 23 of continuous sexual abuse of a child, officials said. He was given a life sentence in prison the same day.
He will not be eligible for parole, the district attorney said.
“I am very intentional when I use the word ‘monster’ to name Darrell W. Lang,” Ligon said in a statement. “He terrorized and then victimized these innocent little babies. But there are heroes as well — these kids were strong enough to survive what he did, along with the other heroes who investigated then prosecuted him. He will never touch another child again and will rightly spend the rest of his miserable life in prison paying for these crimes.”
Montgomery County is about a 40-mile drive north from Houston.
