Eight puppies only days old found in box, shelter says. Now they have a second chance
An Iowa shelter has given eight puppies a second chance at life after they were found abandoned.
Eight puppies less than 1 week old were found abandoned in a cardboard box, according to a Facebook post by the Midlands Humane Society. The box was found in a ditch on a trail in Council Bluffs, the shelter said.
“These puppies will require round the clock care as we make sure they are healthy, fed, and growing,” the post said.
The puppies will eventually move into foster homes, according to the shelter.
Council Bluffs is about a 5-mile drive east of Omaha, Nebraska.
