Sweet dog’s stress levels become unbearable in Indiana shelter. She needs a home fast
Dogs are meant to be loved and doted on since they have such a short time on this Earth, and one pup in particular is in desperate need of this — along with a forever home where she can thrive.
Meet Demeter, a beautiful 4-year-old terrier, pit bull mix with a huge heart — one that’s breaking every second she sits in the Humane Society for Hamilton County shelter.
“Our hearts break when we look at Demeter. Her stress levels are more than she can cope with and she needs reprieve now,” the shelter said in a July 9 Facebook post. The shelter also posted a video of Demeter.
“She needs an immediate adopter or foster before her spirits break anymore. Please help her or share this post so we can find someone who can!”
Demeter was left in a wooded area, according to her profile on Pet Place, but despite her background, she is a determined pup with a “strong will.”
“This sweet pup is already housebroken and crate trained,” staff said. “While she has experience living with another dog, Demeter can be selective about her furry friends and might thrive best as the only canine companion in her forever home. She adores going on walks and eagerly exploring the world around her with curiosity and enthusiasm.”
And she does have some fun hobbies, which include treats.
“But her favorite pastime? Playing with toys, of course! And let’s not forget her ultimate weakness: peanut butter! This delightful snack never fails to bring a smile to Demeter’s face, making it the perfect reward for her good behavior or simply a tasty treat to enjoy.”
