Man gets trapped under steel at top of cellphone tower, Nebraska officials say
It took first responders across multiple Nebraska counties to save a man that ended up trapped atop a cellphone tower, Nebraska fire officials said.
It was midday when the York Fire Department said it learned that a man was trapped under steel at the top of a cellphone tower in Fillmore County, according to a June 11 Facebook post.
Photos show the fire department’s ladder extended toward the top of the tower where the man was rescued.
Officials did not immediately respond to McClatchy News’ questions about how the man ended up atop the tower.
The man was taken to a trauma center by helicopter, fire officials said. They did not provide an update on his condition.
York is about a 50-mile drive west of Lincoln.
