A Pennsylvania teenager is being charged as an adult after officials say he repeatedly stabbed a 14-year-old.

Carmelo Colon, 15, met up with a 14-year-old in the parking lot of the Camelot Arms Apartments in Springettsbury Township on Monday, Feb. 12, according to WHTM.

The classmates walked to a wooded area together to smoke marijuana, according to the York Dispatch, citing police.

That’s when police said Colon attacked the teen and stabbed him in the neck, abdomen and back, according to WHTM. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The teen identified Colon as the person accused of attacking him, according to a criminal complaint, the York Daily Record reported. When officials interviewed Colon, he reportedly admitted to knowing the teen but denied seeing him recently or attacking him. He also said he hadn’t left his apartment that day, the outlet reported.

However, officials said security video showed Colon leaving his apartment and meeting the teen at a park pavilion in the apartment complex around 5:25 p.m., the York Dispatch reported.

Then, Colon is seen on video walking back into his apartment around 5:55 p.m., five minutes after police responded to the stabbing call, court records said, according to the news outlet.

Both teens attend Central York High School, WPMT reported. The school released a statement after the incident.

“As a district, our thoughts and prayers continue to be with our affected student and their family,” superintendent Peter J. Aiken said in a letter to parents, according to WPMT.

Colon is charged with attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault, according to court documents. An attorney was not listed for the teen.
