Lottery player uses same birthday numbers — and scores 5 big wins in Washington

A lucky lottery player in Washington used the same special birthday numbers on five games and won the top prize on each.
Now she’s $50,000 richer.
The woman from Everett had been going through photos of her mother before she bought five Match 4 tickets, Washington’s Lottery said in a Jan. 29 news release.
So when she bought the lottery games, she decided to combine her and her mom’s birthdays and use those numbers.
She checked the tickets on the app and saw she had won the top prize of $10,000 on each game, which added up to $50,000, lottery officials said.
The woman also realized she had scored big on her mother’s wedding anniversary.
Her husband “was so shocked by the coincidence that he was left speechless,” lottery officials said.
Now the woman has plans to donate some of her money to animal charities and local nonprofits.
Everett is about 30 miles north of Seattle.
