Heartbreaking TikTok shows California doctors and nurses honor 1-year-old organ donor

A little girl born with a genetic disorder was honored by a California hospital after her parents decided to pursue organ donation.

Natalie Renner, known as @Raisingrenners on TikTok, shared an emotional video to her platform on June 21, showing her 1-year-old daughter, Mason, being given the “honor walk” at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento.

Mason was born with Pfeiffer syndrome, which can include craniosynostosis, a defect causing “closure of growth plates of the skull that changes the shape of the head and can put increased pressure on the brain,” according to Boston Children’s Hospital.

The TikTok that has amassed over 2.1 million views as of June 22, shows Renner and her daughter being rolled out in a hospital bed as the medical staff give their respects.

Mason’s dad, Marcus, can be seen kissing his daughter one final time, as her mom holds her.

Renner took to Instagram on June 20 to share that “during or shortly after Mason’s surgery she suffered a massive stroke causing significant irreversible damage to her brain.”

For the Renners, choosing organ donation for their daughter was never a question.

In a June 22 Instagram post, Renner said, “Mason is making sure a family doesn’t have to go through what we are experiencing.”

Doctors were able to retrieve Mason’s kidneys along with her heart valves.

“Mason’s sweet heart will live on,” her mother wrote on Instagram.
