Walt Disney built and lived in this fairytale California estate. It’s now up for rent
An enchanting four-bedroom, five-bathroom estate has just hit the market and is available to rent for $40,000 a month.
But, there’s a reason behind the steep number: The residence was built by and lived in by Walt Disney himself.
Along with his family, of course.
“This property was chosen by Walt Disney as the place to raise his family, and also coincided with a transition of Disney Studios from fledgling enterprise toward entertainment giant,” listing agent Chase Campen of Compass said in a news release. “It sits on an acre of land with incredible outdoor space and city views. Its historical pedigree only adds to the magical mystique.”
According to the listing, the description remarks that in a “town filled with creative geniuses, this home was built and first occupied by one of the greatest of them all, Walt Disney” who had bought the land in order to build his family dream home in Los Angeles, California.
And yes, the home inspired some of his most iconic and beloved characters, including Snow White, Mary Poppins and Winnie the Pooh, the release said.
Features of the 6,388-square-foot home include:
Two-story living room
Home theater
Swimming pool
Outdoor dining area
Vaulted ceilings
Campen recommended that if someone is interested in renting the home, they would need to move fast.
“The market in Los Angeles and Los Feliz/the Hollywood Hills is still robust and marked by insufficient inventory and high demand,” Campen said in the release. “This condition has enabled pricing to remain steady, even with a rise in interest rates. Demand continues to outstrip supply and beautiful properties like this one, whether for lease or for sale, do not last long on the market.”
