Lottery player ‘in shock’ after last-minute decision nets life-changing jackpot win
A Michigan man’s last-minute decision led to him winning a six-figure jackpot, lottery officials said.
The 52-year-old man and his brother stopped at Good Time Charlie’s restaurant in Capac to grab food and pick up lottery tickets, according to a June 12 news release from the Michigan Lottery.
The man was on the verge of buying an instant ticket but spotted a Fast Cash jackpot worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
“So I decided at the last minute to purchase a Jackpot Slots ticket instead,” he told lottery officials.
After getting back to his table, he scanned his ticket and realized he’d won a $886,062 jackpot.
“I showed my brother the ticket and we started shouting with excitement,” he said. “We couldn’t believe it and were in shock for a while.”
The man plans to use his winnings to help out his family, he said.
Capac is about 60 miles north of Detroit.
