An Ohio couple was charged after they butt-dialed police while having sex outside, police said.

Officers were dispatched to an area next to a highway in Youngstown on the afternoon of May 28 after receiving a 911 call, according to a police report.

While searching the area, an officer heard noises coming from a nearby hill and walked over to investigate.

He found a man and woman having sex near a tree, police said.

“The area where the two chose to engage in the sexual festivities was completely visible to all of the vehicles passing by,” police said.

After the officer alerted the duo to his presence, they stopped and got dressed.

Upon inspection, it was revealed that the man’s phone, which was switched into emergency mode, appeared to have dialed 911 without his knowledge.

The pair, both Youngstown residents in their late 30s, were taken to police vehicles, where they were cited on a charge of public indecency.

They were scheduled to appear in court on May 31.

Youngstown is about 65 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
