Man drives 130 miles on whim to play Idaho Lottery game — and wins biggest prize ever
Dennis Bell set out on a 130-mile drive to play an Idaho Lottery game.
He ended up winning thousands on Tuesday, May 23, according to lottery officials.
Bell, from Filer, initially won a digital spin from an Idaho Lottery game called The Big Spin at a convenience store in Twin Falls.
This meant he had the chance to win $125,000 by spinning a massive wheel at a Big Spin live event.
But he had to drive hours to another city to play the game.
“They told me I had to go all the way to Boise to get my winnings. That’s a long ways away,” he told the lottery office.
Bell wasn’t sure if he should go at first.
“The gal next to me said she’d take the ticket and go. Not sure she’d (give) me any of the winnings, so I decided maybe I should go all the way up to Boise. I’d like $125,000,” he said.
He drove to Boise Towne Square where he spun the big wheel and landed a $90,000 prize.
His prize was the largest in the game’s history, lottery officials said.
Now Bell said he has plans to buy a tractor or truck with his money.
